When I was 15, I bombed the SAT. People told me I was a “bad test taker” and that I should just focus on the rest of my application. They thought I should accept my score because there was no way it could change. But I found a way.
I couldn't afford SAT prep classes, so I had to do the work myself. I spent every Saturday for the next 3 years at my local library, taking practice SATs and analyzing my errors. I reverse engineered the exam. I developed a system that let me solve every question, and fast.
The hard work paid off. I got a nearly perfect SAT score, applied to top schools, was admitted to the Ivy League, and ultimately attended college on a Full Scholarship.
